Try This At Home on Spring Break!Courtesy of Google Analytics, we just noticed we were featured as one of the top three blogs to visit while the proprietor of the very cool Try This At Home Indie Design Blog is away on Spring Break.
We’ll forgive her for calling our product names “dorky” cause, hey, they kinda are..plus her site has such great stuff like this spring gift tag tutorial and tons of fab product features that we can’t hold a grudge!

In our last post we told you we’d be participating as a vendor at Shecky’s Girls Night Out in NYC March 16th.. its actually a 5 day event but the exhibitor’s fee is pretty high, so we wanted to test it out for one day to make sure we weren’t going to LOSE money on the venture.

Unfortunately, the weather and other circumstances didn’t really cooperate. It had to had been the WORST weather NY has seen all year.. seriously, it was hailing (sideways!) and the streets in NYC were covered with solid ice. We were lucky anyone showed up at all! And it was definitely not fun loading and unloading our booth during that kind of weather.

Lovely ladies at the Charmed & Dangerous booth at Shecky's Girls Night Out

To be honest, despite the weather we were a little surprised we didn’t do better. Perhaps it was the competition from the Sex Toys vendor situated to our left  - that’s some “stiff” competition. (sorry, couldn’t resist!).

I will say though that if you have to be a vendor at an event where you don’t do well, Shecky’s girls night out has to be the most fun events to fail at. With an open bar, an excellent DJ and really helpful staff, it was sometimes hard to remember we were there to sell and not to party!

In the springtime we might try the much less expensive Young Designer’s Market in SoHo.. if you have anywhere you think Charmed & Dangerous should set-up shop, leave a comment or email us and let us know..

In case you’re visiting from the Shecky’s NYC Girl’s Night Out website, just want to let you know we’re only participating as a vendor on Friday March 16th. If your ticket is for another night, we’re so sorry we’re going to miss you! (Of course you can buy any of our merchandise right here at our website anytime..)
If you are planning on attending the sold-out event on Friday night we look forward to meeting you!

Friday is our “test run” at Shecky’s. If all goes well, we’ll probably do all five nights in NYC this summer, and if it goes REALLY well we may even do girls night out in the other cities its offered in like LA, Atlanta, Chicago etc. So hopefully Charmed & Dangerous may be coming to a city near you soon!

I really love when I’m searching through our web stats and find that someone has linked to or posted about us without me even knowing! That’s how I found out that Julie, the proprietress of the super cool blog Indie Diner featured our Be Mine necklace as a pick for Valentine’s Day.

goonie.jpgNot only does Julie run Indie Diner, but she has a an  Etsy shop as well. Being the daughter part of the mother/daughter team that runs Charmed & Dangerous I couldn’t help but LOVE the fact that she features many items that were designed and created by her 9 year old daughter - like this stuffed animal named “Goonie” the Hugaboo. How adorable! With a mom like Julie, how could she NOT be a creative prodigy :)

Introducing “Blizzard”

Ice skating charm necklace

All you New Yorkers who visited us at the Union Square Holiday Market may remember seeing this little treasure, but its brand new on the website!

So say hello to Blizzard, the newest of what I like to call our “vignette” necklaces because they tell little stories.

This one definitely has that cozy winter feel.. I can almost feel the mittens and taste the hot chocolate every time I look at it!

We hope you like it too…

New Eagle Charm Necklace

Eagle Charm NecklaceWe JUST added “Fell Swoop”, an eagle charm necklace to the online store… Its one of my personal faves so I wanted to put a little note here to let you know about it!

Its got a chunkier chain than our other necklaces (except for the extra long charm necklaces which also have a thicker chain) that gives a bit of an edgier feel. You can’t tell from the pics but the quartz crystal that hangs behind the eagle is really faceted and sparkly.

The length of this necklace is adjustable, which is a nifty feature and its also available in silver with an onyx stone - if silver is your thing.

I hope you love it as much as I do!
