We’ve been blogged!
December 12th, 2006 by Ariana
Yes people, we are no longer virgins of the blogosphere, for we have been blogged. For the very first time! (and hopefully not the last!)
Kudos to Jen of “So you wannabe a Domestik Goddess” for being first among her peers, a true innovator, a trendspotter, a style pioneer!
Wow, a few glasses of prosecco and the adjectives just roll off the tongue…(Bartender, keep ‘em coming.)
I believe that Jen discovered us through the press release that I sent out via PRWeb.
THANK GOD, because her post is the only positive thing to come out of the press release as of yet.
So far to date I have been contacted by:
A) a competitor of PR web who wanted me to use their services.
B) a “PR” person for small companies (should I be offended that she could tell our release wasn’t written by a pro? )
C) a ”television show” on a cable network that shall remain nameless. Their “producer” spent 45 minutes of my time getting me all excited that they wanted to feauture us! He told me where to send the samples, asked me all sorts of questions about the company, gave me their mailing address, asked me if our servers could handle the load of all the traffic they were going to send us.. and at the very end of the conversation, he casually mentioned that there was ‘one other thing’.
The ‘one other thing’ was that, although 85% of their operating costs are covered by advertisers, they require a contribution from the company being covered of just $7500.
Um, excuse me? That would be our advertising budget for probably the entire next year. Scratch that, three years!
But anyway, the point of this rather long-winded post is that we are truly appreciative of people like Jen who take the time out of their lives to post cool finds so that others can benefit.
Thanks Jen, you’ll always be our first and we’ll remember you forever!

Wow, girl, thanks! Yes, it was your PRWeb release that put me onto you - so don’t write them off, it’s a great way for bloggers like little old *moi* to find those “small companies” that can’t afford the flashy PR firms to promote their wares, and who doesn’t love to find a really cool treasure?
If you’ll permit a quick metaphor - lucking onto a small company or indie artist/artisan is like discovering that one perfect Christmas tree hidden in the heart of the overwhelming forest. Charmed & Dangerous = nice blue spruce, in those terms.
Put me on your mailing list for any exciting new developments, will you?
Jen, we will absolutely put you on our mailing list! You are so kind, and such a wonderful writer. Blue spruce in the forrest, now why can’t I think of things like that to say ???
Honestly, I love how you changed some of the wording of the press release on your blog, you made it sound so much better (edgy pretties, I love that!). I hope you won’t mind if repurpose some of what you said to use elsewhere.
Also, since you are so great with words, if you come across any products that don’t have cool names yet and have any ideas PLEASE let me know!
xoxo
